2009 Subaru Exiga MPV To Debut In Japan

Subaru has cleared its intentions to launch the production model of the Exiga Concept it showed at last years Tokyo Motor Show. This confirmation comes by the way of official Exiga wagon teaser image released by Subaru along with the launch of its micro-site (in Japanese). Impreza based Exiga is a 7-seater, three-row minivan which Subaru is going to launch on June 17th in Japan.

No information is yet availble about the possible powerplant options that might be available on the road-going version of Exiga MPV. But one of the likely engine trim could be the turbocharged 2.0L horizontally opposed boxer-four engine which powered the concept version of Subaru Exiga.

Expected to slotted between the Forester and the Legacy models, the new Subaru Exiga might proce to be a tough rival for the upcoming Toyota Venza. More details will emerge near the launch date.

Special Edition Subaru Legacy STI S402 Debuts In Japan

The Subaru has launched STI tuned Subaru Legacy STI S402 for sale in the Japanese domestic market. This new limited edition model (only 402 unit to be made) is likely to be only for Japan and will be on sale from June 27th. The price for Subaru Legacy STI S402 station wagon version starts at 5,491,500 yen (US$52,471) while the base model of sedan variant cost 5.355 million yen (US$51,167).


Subaru Legacy STI S402 Specs & Features.
Both available body styles feature the same 2.5L turbocharged DOHC engine as the US and European Impreza STI's and develops 282 hp of power and 392 Nm of torque. All this power is channeled through a six-speed manual gearbox.

To make Legacy STI S402 limited edition special in both looks and performance, it comes equipped with the SI-DRIVE (Subaru Intelligent Drive), a re-programmed ECU plus a chassis upgrade including BILSTEIN suspension. New Subaru is wider by 20mm and gets a carbon-fiber front spoiler along with an exclusive 18-inch BBS alloys wheels and Bridgestone Potenza tires.

The steering ratio has been reduced to 13:1 and brakes upgraded to more powerful Brembo brakes with six-piston calipers in front and two in the rear. Apart from the usual special editon badging, Legacy STI S402's interior comes decorated with a black and dark gray color scheme with leather front bucket seats, the new MOMO steering wheel and an aluminum shift knob.

Mazda Release 8-Seat Biante Mini-Van For Japan

Mazda Motor Corporation, has announced its newly developed eight-seat minivan, the Mazda Biante, which will go on sale in Japan during summer 2008. The name ‘Biante’ was coined from the English word, ‘ambient,’ to create the impression of a unified interior space that contributes to an enjoyable and comfortable in-car experience for all the vehicle’s occupants.

Developed exclusively for the Japanese market, the Biante features distinctive and athletic styling. Mazda hasn't released much information about its new mini-van except for some pictures and an official video of the new Biante.
